Oh Sharon. It’s so heartbreaking losing animals. This is a lovely tribute to remember her. She was lucky to have such a loving home. I hope her chicks continue to bring you joy.
RIP Glynis.Having followed her story from anxious broody hen, to super-adopter, it’s wonderful to read your tribute. So sorry she’s gone, Sharon. I’ve never kept chickens, but she had such personality and you cared for her so well. Lovely story.
OH NO! I was so enjoying the read and then got to 'that' part. Poor sweet Glynis. I am very happy that she got to experience motherhood and seems to have taken to it beautifully. So sorry for your loss doll. RIP Glynis xx
I've never cried over a chicken before - I'm a rough tough farmer's daughter - but Glynis's story is different. You gave her a full life for that year Sharon, this piece was a fitting tribute.
Oh this is such a lovely tribute Sharon - Glynis was a beauty - and that pic with Beverley is adorable! It's clear there's something about chickens that's very endearing - well there must be when you think of all those phrases we use like being 'taken under their wing'. It's so sad she's gone, but I'm glad it was quick. RIP Glynis. (Fudge looked so cute too).
I didn't 'get' chickens until my father-in-law took on some ex-battery hens. They really do have so much distinctive personality.
It's horrible losing a pet, I really feel for you. Someone once told me the hurt is equal to the joy they bought you - the hurt is worth it because none of us would want that joy to go away. It sounds like Glynis was awesome.
Thanks Lewis. I still struggle with losing our dog Fudge, which was back in August. Like you say, chickens have big personalities and Glynis is much missed.
Wonderful! I'm sure you're getting better at this. I mean, it's a fantastic story with all the essentials there for you but you have made a superb job of it. Well doen Sharon, I miss Glynis, as if she was mine, and I wish Beverley a long and happy life.
Hi Sharon, an enjoyable story. Equal measure of fondness and frustration. How special that you get to have full circle experience with a breed that I have zero experience. Well told.

Thank-you Margaret.

Thanks Wendy. She was definitely one of a kind.
Have just read this for a second time and it broke my heart all over again💔
Thanks so much for reading and appreciating the love we have for our little chooks x
I'm sorry to hear about Glynis.
Thanks Nicole. She was a lovely chook.

What a legacy Glynis has left behind!
Thank-you Ruth

Thanks Faith, it is sad. Fudge was a superstar too.
Oh no ! So sad. RIP Glynis. The way she looked after the egg and fostered the other chicks, made me feel really emotional! 😭
This is such sad news. She might have only had a short life but she had a great one with you and Danny.

Oh, I hear that. I have a pet piece in the works and half the cast are no longer with us - writing that one is going to be tough.
Oh my heart! I wish I got to know her <3
Vale Glynis 🌈 🐓 you also made me cry over a chicken.

The ending is very sweet, and so true xxx
