G'day/Howya/Hello
Welcome to my page, Pigeon Post. I write about anything that piques my interest, some personal, other stuff observational.
A little bit about me…I’m a 53 year old Londoner of Irish descent. Nine years ago I moved to Australia to be with my childhood sweetheart (slow burn). In doing so I inherited 3 step kids, 2 emotionally unstable dogs, and then there’s the chickens…. I live next to a rainforest, where I try to ignore the strange sounds that echo through the night.
Am currently spending some time back in Blighty, where my addiction to Marks & Spencers Foodhall has finally become a real source of worry.

Why We'll Always Be a Haunted Generation

Instantly I began reminiscing about sticky floors, cheap drinks, and dancing until dawn. After a quick mental calculation of which friends might still be game (regular readers will know that my husband is currently
Ode to Men
Back in the 1980s, The Two Ronnies aired a sketch called The Worm That Turned - a dystopian romp where women ruled the world with PVC uniforms and machine guns, while men were forced underground, stripped of power tools, pubs, and dignity. It was gloriously daft of course - a send-up of gender politics before the discourse blew up, but at the time, it f…
...Gonna Need a Bigger Orchestra...
As the lights dim and the opening titles roll, the unmistakable sound of alternating notes on a tuba - E-F-E-F - begin softly, slowly, before rapidly gaining momentum. The music then shifts, replaced by the gentle sound of a harmonica. The tension fades, and what seemed like looming danger softens into a moment of carefree, almost whimsical calm. Look! …

I love this format of an intro article. Also, your linked articles are sneaky. I don't even know how many I've read now 😁. I've followed a meandering rabbit hole and that's what my brain loves.
Anyways, I know that's all basic marketing tactics, but you've executed so well you've inspired me to do some work on my substack, and I feel like you should get the credit.
I'm also a gen X-er, all over the place - with words and travel - and a new subscriber 😁🥰. Oh, I just visited London last week and posted about it. There's another small connection. Nice to meet you.
